About Me

I live in Norwich but my dream life is travelling around and never having an actual base, just going from one place to the next.

However I am a single mother of three small babies.. 3 year old and 11 month twins. It's challenging but rewarding. I still hope to travel one day with them, if I ever get my book finished and published!

So anyway I would now like to host people to feel a part of the travelling world that I can't be a part of.

I have two comfy couches and my son's room is usual spare. If you can put up with a bit of mess and three young'uns you are welcome to message me and we can see how to work it.

I am also a rubbish cook, so you won't be getting much there lol but good stories (my children are half Maasai ;) I can give a'plenty! :)

Old post - hated to delete - My love, my life, my everything is my son who is the lovely tender age of 14 months and who I hope to share many adventures with, including travel

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In 2014 I was homeless and in a bad place. Some amazing people on couchsurfing gave me a couch and it stopped me being on the streets. This paved my way for couchsurfing and made me realise what a Godsend it could be.

I haven't had the opportunity to use it since but I hope now to make that change

Interests

I have always found it easy to write and always enjoyed it although sometimes I put too much pressure on myself and it changes my love of it.

I love to read, if I had more time I would read and read and read. When I was 10, I was home-schooled and my schooling mainly consisted of getting up in the morning, walking to my local library taking out 6 books (which was a child's allowance), going home, reading them all then the next day starting again, take the books back and get 6 more. I love a good read!

Languages - I always wanted to learn every language of the world. I haven't had the opportunity or the perseverance in nature to do it and I am getting on a bit now, but it was my dream. I love languages, especially African, American Indian, Aboriginal and Maori languages.

I love music, music makes me happy, singing makes me happy. I wanted to be a singer when I was small. To me it was everything.

Family - I love the idea of family, community, it is what draws me to such places in different countries who live more community based.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry [I will always love this book and re-read]

Celestine Prophecy [haven't read it again since my first reading 2013 but I was so in tune with it and it came at the right time]

I like biographies but mainly autobiographies

Travel books - not the guide to type but people's adventures

Movies/TV:
It's been a long while since I have managed a good movie, single motherhood prevents :)

Braveheart
The Last Kingdom
Extras
Old Disney Classics

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done it twice! Giving birth to my children ;) ... old post - three now ;)

Kenya -
1. Motorbike toppled on us when driving in bush
2. Sleeping in bed unbeknownst with a poisonous spider
3. Riding a motorbike for the first time and falling in love
4. Seeing the Kenyan night - so many stars in the sky it's like a Disney movie
5. Hearing the hyenas call as you sleep
6. Stepping on glass and having an unusual remedy that completely healed the wound in an instant
7. Being locked outside with a lion nearby who sends out an I've spotted you call
8. Working hard to get the use of my arm back after a break and nerve damage which caused it to be paralysed
9. Taking my son to Kenya
and so many more :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Everyone has some skill even if they are unaware. Anything you found in me that you wanted to learn, more than happy. I am good at telling stories, and could give you a lot of information on Kenya ;)

I'm not that confident in myself and my abilities but I could teach you English if you needed it, my ex who's first language is not English began getting 90% and higher in his exams after talking to me all the time ;)

Talking and sharing your experiences can help someone learn, I don't have any particular skill as such but I am a good listener and storyteller

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories! I've lived a soap opera type life the past few years... you'd have your own Eastenders to listen to hehe
