ABOUT ME

Actions show who people are more than words...so I graduated from ISU in 2011 with a decidedly international focus(Major Pol S & IR Minors History & Spanish) after studying in Cáceres, Spain for semester I knew I could never go into the work world directly and student debt from grad school was appealing. I decided I wanted to go abroad and decided on Montevideo after intuitively knowing(wisely) that Buenos Aires wasn't for me. I have been here since October 2011 met some of the nicest and interesting people. I have worked in a hotel, taught English, and at my current job as customer support. I love the laid-back feel of Montevideo, but am looking for more travel that a job doesn't allow for on a Uruguayan salary. My favorite day of the week in Montevideo is Sunday for the market where I shop and Monday for our Fútbol 5 games and dinner and drinks after with my friends. I have hitchiked the entirety of Uruguay and am looking for new Adventures in both Chile and Argentina.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a realist politically more than anything left-right.
I very much subscribe to the theory of relativity in that what is depends on where you are looking at it from and that there isn't really only one truth. I also like I am sure many others believe travel is incredibly important in our globalized(so overused but there is not a better term) society.

Soy realistico más que liberal o conservativo. Creo que todo es relativo en la vida por que su punta de vista cambió su propio verdad. Finalmente, creo que viajar y conocedr otros ladfos de mundos en esta epoca es muy importante, creo que como todos de CouchSurfing.

International Politics and History, I love to have deep discussions on these topics and broaden my horizons with different views from different cultures. I am decidedly realist and Machiavelli's Prince is always with me.

Relaciones Internacionales y Historia. Me gusta tener buenas charlas con otros de otros puntas de vistas y otras culturas. Soy muy realista y El Principe de Maquiavelo siempore esta conmigo.

I am a runner who has due to injury become a walker at times(If your in Montevideo the Rambla is highly recommended). I also enjoy talking about and watching other sports especially football(Go KC Chiefs!) and fútbol(Barcá and La Seleccion Uruguayo).

Soy un corredor que por la causa de heridos y esoty con mochila estoy caminando más(La Rambla en MVD es muy recomendable). Tambien me gusta mirar y hacer otros deportes especialemente fútbol americano, basquet, y fútbol.

I have an ecletic taste in music like everyone nowadays. However, I mostly enjoy hard rock and other rock in the Beatles, Counting Crows, etc.

Me gusta un poco de todo de Musica pero más que nada rock pesado, AC/DC, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, etc. Igual me gusta rock de otras formas incluyendo Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Los Beatles, Counting Crows, Smash Mouth, Cuarteto de Nos, Molotov, y No Te Va Gusta.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies that make you think a la Inception, Momento, Loopers, etc. I also enjoy comedies especially from Sandler and Wahlberg action movies.

Me gusta pelis que tenés que pensar como Incepcion, Momento, y Loopers, etc. Tambien me encanta los comedias con Adam Sandler y los de accion de Mark Wahlberg.

One of my favorite books is My Side of the Mountain. About a young boy who runs away and lives in the Catskill Mountains(I want to do it sometimes, the book makes it seem easier than it would be in reality.)

Uno de mis libros favorito es Mi lado de la Montaña. Sobre un joven que sale de su casa y vivas en los Montañas Catskill en Nueva York. A veces quiero hacer algo similar por que me gusta la naturaleza pero no es facil la vida asi.

I also(due to Machiavlli likely) have a fasciantion with History and have many books on the Italian Renaissance, Medici, The Catholic Kings, Golden Age of Spain. I also find the Byzantine Empire and Venetian republic interesting.

Tambien tengo un fascinacion con la historia y tengo muchos libros sobre el Renacimiento, los Medici, Los Reyes Catolicos, y El siglo de Oro de España. Tambien me gusta mucho la hisotria byzantino y lo de venezia. Me encanta aprenderlo de SurAmerica y los paises que contienen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The only race(5K) that I have ever one was my freshman year at university. The night before I went out and partied rather heavily. Woke up for the race the next day my mom and grandpa were in town to watch. I ended up winning it rather surprisingly to me. Very cool feeling although there are other races I am more proud of.

Soy un corredor y solo gané una carrera en mi vida. Un de 5K en la univerisdad despues de salir y tomar mucho la noche anterior. Desperté temprano la proxima dia para la carrera y mi familia estaba y yo con un poco de resaca. Me soprendé al final que yo gané pero es un sensacion que nunca sentí en otro momento. Igual tengo muchas más experiencias que son interesante, pero esto es un ejemplo.

I have taught English for the past year and enjoy multi-language conversations. I also can show you a little bit of Artisan life if it interests you.

He enseñado inglés por un año y me gusta aprender otros idiomas y hablar en diferentes idiomas en la misma conversacion. Tambien puedo mostar un poco de la vida artesano si le interesa.

As said before I have a deep interest in the Italian Renaissance and can speak about some interesting happening more so in politics during that period.

Tambien puedo hablar mucho de el Renacimiento Italiano y sé unas de las cosas interesante de esta epoca.
