Hello!
I'm Red Chen,a Taiwanese enjoying my working holiday in New Zealand.
I was a basketball coach and a military servicemen for the fire station in Taiwan. I would love to be a professional photographer, I enjoy playing and watching basketball. I also like meeting new people from different countries to discover new culture and beliefs. I'm pretty laid back and like the smallest things in life. I'm easy to live with, clean and tidy. Have a great personality, laughs and can cook traditional Taiwanese food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I feel that staying with locals is best way to understand the culture. I have boarded with a beautiful kiwi lady in Tauranga and now boarding in a Maori community [tangata whenua] people of the land,close to the Marae [meeting house] which has given me the opportunity to learn the language and the culture of the Maori people from Kahungunu tribe.

The reason why Im on couchsurfing is to have this wonderful opportunity to experience a new adventure and meet new friends to add to my world travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite kind of music is British rock(like Oasis,Pulp....) and Post Rock.But My music range is quite wide that would like to listen different kind of music.

I'm a big fan of Christopher Nolan.He's “Batman” series is the best movie ever.But even that,My favorite movie is ”The Curious Case of Benjamin Button“.Even though Benjamin's body is totally different with normal people.But his life isn't different.All of thing about loneliness,love and opportunity in the movie.

"Little Prince" always inspired me to found new mind in my brain when I read again and again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing was when I saved an elderly man who was chocking on food. he stopped breathing [OHCA], out of hospital cardiac arrest. Once he started breathing properly he was sent to hospital. This is why I loved my job as a military serviceman, It is a humbling experience to be able to save a life.
