Overview
About Me
I grew up in a small town in Idaho and have been traveling the world for the last 15 years. I am a journalist and documentary filmmaker and through my work I have always sought to bring marginalized voices to the fore, to expose injustices and abuse of power, to create awareness about issues that have been ignored or misunderstood and to challenge mainstream narratives that are devoid of context or distort local realities. I am compassionate, honest, principled, generous, engaging, thinking. I am a low-impact guest and don't need much to make me happy!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After hosting countless people informally when I lived in Haiti, I've been nomadic the last few years, traveling mostly because of work. I don't like staying at hotels and love meeting new people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watching young people in Libya stand down bullets and bombs without fear of dying to liberate their country.
Seeing young Haitians in the poorest slums of Port-au-Prince volunteer to teach children in their neighborhoods to read and write.
Climbing a peak in the Wasatch recently and being reminded of the awesome power of the mountains.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always happy to impart any knowledge I may have gained over the years, whether it be about film/journalism, languages, places to visit. I'm just as eager to learn something new.
What I Can Share with Hosts
