About Me

i'm guessing this is about travel, so - i enjoy the countryside as much as the cities, i like to take it slow and let the experience sink in when i'm in a new place. spontaneous when it comes to destinations and often travel solo. love to walk the cities and bike the landscapes. enjoy being with the locals and doing their thing even if it means missing out on the top 10 must sees.

PHILOSOPHY

i don't think i have a one liner for this! the closest i can get to a personal philosophy is that i follow my heart and experience whatever life has to offer, and i try to keep the fear away.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i surf when i travel alone and in the mood to slum it a little! of course, there's nothing better than staying with a local.
i host... it's unfair to not put the extra mattress to good use! (although i can't at the moment)
sometimes i agree to meet tourist CSs on a free day/ evening or i simply invite them to join me and my friends. i ask for the same from host CSurfers when i'm in another city and staying at a hostel/ hotel.

Music, Movies, and Books

this isn't an excuse, but this requires thinking if it's to be made into a list. can i leave it at : better suited to a conversation...?!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- the balkans, 2010!!!!! i didn't do anything amazing but amazing things happened to me : )
- first bike ride alone from toulouse to marseilles along the canal du midi. 2007.
- sleeping under the stars along the danube on my second bike ride. 2008.
- most beautiful sunset ever, etched in my memory. bangladesh 2001.
- being stranded at the doodhsagar waterfalls in goa with my friends, and getting back on the last freight train in the rain. 2002.

Teach, Learn, Share

every CS experience, i learn something, even if it's just that the viennese mix soda in their wine (that would be sacrilege in paris), or to learn about the building regulations of stockholm, or to be convinced that cantonese is tougher than mandarin !
and when u represent a city or a country, u have to be credible, so u end up learning even as u teach.
so i'd say it's a win win situation.

What I Can Share with Hosts

whatever I know of Paris & France... Delhi & India... guidebooks, yoga basics...
