About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Working on becoming the best version of me!

ABOUT ME

2 years ago, I woke up in a perfect life, with having everthing I needed and able to afford everything I wanted but still not happy. I felt traped in my own life, as if I was living someone elses life.
1 year later, I had no home anymore, I had no job anymore and all my posessions I've left were stored in a few boxes at my parents house.
The last year traveling with only a backpack full of things have been the happiest in my life. I felt like I finally arrived.

I learned not to make plans and to stay and leave whereever and whenever I feel like it. I don't need other people to entertain myself, but I love being surronded by people. Just not being alone, while being by myself :-)
I also learned to take "my alone time" whenever I need it and without feeling remorse or being afraid of hurting somebodys feelings.

It happened that I joined people traveling for a while and after a few days I enjoyed traveling by myself in the same way. It's the mixure without pressure to fulfill somebodys expectations that makes me happy!

If you want to and have the time to show me around in a place I'm visiting, I appreciate it and I'm very grateful as I'm always eager to learn about the places I visit, but I would never expect that. I enjoy a good conversation, but I also respect somebodys private time and try not to disturb while staying at a couchsurfers place.

I'm easy to please with a clean and safe place to stay, I don't need much space on my own (I'm tiny anyway ;-) ) and I will always try to make it up by being a pleasant company.

I'm a non-smoker and a vegetarian and though I wouldn't like to stay at a smokers home, I have no problems with staying at a non-vegetarians home :-D

I try to live a responsible-minded life, I live by the rules and try to respect life at all kinds. I don't like people who think being a backpacker allows stealing and cheating. In this case I'm intollerant and I would never accept or join such a behaviour.

I'm not a party-girl, but I can enjoy a night out as well as a relaxing evening in a pub with a cider. But I would always favor a full day of adventures and great places insted of sleeping in.

If I didn't scare you away by now, I would love to meet you somewhere someday :-)

...Now, about six months after my amazing trip, I'm back in Germany with a new job and a new life. Still trying to fit back in and to safe all my memories and good feelings... waiting for the next trip to come! :-)

PHILOSOPHY

The journey of traveling all around Australia was also meant as a journey to find out who I am, what I really want and what I want for my future. It takes babysteps to get to a conclusion, but I'm working on it ;-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm preparing to host in my new apartement and would love to give back some of the experiences I made while surfing couches. But I would also love to spend some more time on other couches around the world!

Also I like the idea of just meeting for a coffee (in my case, maybe a hot chocolate :-D ) and exchange experiences or get some advices for my travels. I'm always thankful and happy about tipps and inspirations of any kind!

P.S. I'm NOT here for DATING! So please excuse if I'm deleting and not answering to mails that seem to be just for that purpose...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined two girls on a roadtrip along the Westcoast of Australia and they introduced me to CS by immediately visiting a few Couchsurfers. I love the concept of meeting new and different people and often locals you would never meet otherwise.

Interests

I've always been interested in traveling, but last year Australia was my first big and independent journey. I love reading, and researching about countries I want to travel, I need music at all my travels and I try to see as many places as I can, so taking the bus or the train will always be my first choice.
Not only because it is my profession I have always shared a passion for medicine and nature sciences. In general there are only few things in life, that I'm not interested in. Sometimes it just takes some time to get my attention ;-)

  • chocolate
  • coffee

Music, Movies, and Books

I love watching a good movie even a sweet RomCom or a stupid action movie :-) My music always joins me on all my travels, I couldn't live without it. Same with my ebook reader! It's the only luxury I need :-)
My taste in music changes like my taste in food or clothes :-D At the moment my favorite music are albums of Jem, Lilly Allen, 30 seconds to mars, Lifehouse and the Dixie Chicks. Last book I read was Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice (not for the first time), now I'm reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being able to travel Australia and SEA was already a gift and I hope I can keep up the traveling for a while, even only on holidays at the moment. Sometimes it is the people you meet, sometimes a view you didn't expect or an animal you've never seen before that amazes you. There are just too many things for this small box...

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to share my ability to get enthusiastic for simple things or places. I love a good discussion about something I care for and I appreciate interesting conversations. You can always learn, just by meeting different people and I would like to get as many chances as possible to get new insights in any kind.

Countries I’ve Visited
