Looking for a summer of adventure before I start work in Washington, D.C.!

ABOUT ME

I'm an outgoing, adventurous guy looking to meet some fun people while seeing the United States. I recently graduated from Duke University with a degree in Public Policy Studies. I'm very interested in politics, sports, and I generally have a good time wherever I go. I'm looking to travel around the United States and meet some interesting people.

I'm moving to Washington, D.C. in August to start work, so I'm trying to make the most of my last few months before I join the working world.

PHILOSOPHY

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm taking a trip around the U.S.--looking to see some cool things, have some new experiences, and most importantly, meet lots of fantastically interesting people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Right now I'm in the middle of a cross-country Amtrak/couchsurfing trip. So far I've surfed with people in Lawrence, Kansas, Seattle, San Francisco, and Santa Barbara. I'll definitely be hosting a ton once I settle down in DC---the people I've met so far on this trip have been so friendly, generous, and interesting, and I can't wait to get more involved with the Couchsurfing community.

I love hearing all genres of music live, but I particularly enjoy country music, hip-hop, and rock. I love independent movies, especially dramas and horror films. I'm generally not too much of a movie critic, but I'm not a big fan of blockbuster action movies usually (although there are some exceptions).

Books: David Sedaris, Life of Pi, Margaret Atwood, Michael Creighton, among many others. Recommendations are appreciated!
