About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meeting more people to help create engaging characters for my writing.

ABOUT ME

I love to jump into new things, and my enthusiasm often means I drag others with me. I love to hunt new things out with people, and I have a strong creative side, so I'm frequently surprising people with weird new activities. I struggle to sit in one place, and the past two years back in New Zealand have been the longest I've settled for some time. But I'm loving rediscovering my country.

I'm loyal, and thoughtful, but I can be very easily distracted.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I helped my sister run backpackers hostels in Northern Ireland and Scotland, so I'm used to hosting up to 100 people per night. So one or two people on my couches is a breeze!

Interests

I'm a writer and I love finding new ways to explain things to people. Most things I do contribute to the stories I tell, I believe in writing what you know, so I try to experience as many things as I can. I love discovering, whether it's new sports, new talents, new countries or new people.

I'm loving being back in New Zealand at the moment, and I've jumped into new things, from writing about the growing Craft Beer industry here, to working on my cooking skills now that I'm out of the hospitality industry.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching big, burly Glaswegian lads dancing with tears in their eyes to The Proclaimers, at T in the Park was emotional. I'd been cooking all day with a great mix of Spanish and Scottish people, and that was the perfect end to a busy, wet day.

And horse riding with my sister at sunset in Cappadocia in Turkey was stellar, we had a great kiwi guide, and my horse was spirited and loving the evening. It was in an area called Goreme, and it was like a twisted fantasy-land, with fairy chimneys and a convenient pub stop half way up.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm an artist, who works with mainly oils and rough media, and I love sharing creative ideas and projects. I'm very involved with the Craft Beer scene in Wellington at the moment, so I'm very happy to introduce people to our amazing new beers.

What I Can Share with Hosts
