ABOUT ME

We returned to the UK six months ago after living in Laos PDR for a year. We had been travelling for a year before that, primarily in India and Nepal and we rocked up in Laos in September 2008 expecting to stay for a couple of months. We finally left twelve months later after working as English teachers, spending our free time meeting new friends and getting our tongues around the tonal language.

Back in the UK, Reg works as a nurse manager and Laura is studying part time and working as a support worker. We have been hibernating over the winter but are now looking forward to enjoying the summer, living life on the beach, at festivals and in cider tents for a few months before we decide on which direction to go next.

We enjoy eating good food, being outdoors and meeting stimulating people.

PHILOSOPHY

We try to be grateful every day for the things that we have. We are passionate about meeting new people and learning new things and don't get bogged down by the smaller things in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We are new to the couchsurfing community but have surfed on many couches around the world and have had friends from all over the globe surf our varied collection of couches over the years.

Movies: We both like Trainspotting, The Wicker Man (the original), The Lord of the Rings, Starwars, anything by Tarantino or Zhang Yimou.

Music: A mish mash of folk, blues, rock, pop, indie, dance. Reg enjoys thrashing out tunes on the guitar.

Books: Jack Kerouac's 'On the Road', Salman Rushdie, Louis de Bernieres, Lewis Carroll, Charles Dickens, Sebastion Faulks, Bill Bryson, Roald Dahl and everything inbetween.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For the past five years we have lived together without too many belongings, embracing new experiences and learning every day.
