I'm a very open minded and curious person, always wishing to get to know people, places, food, languages and habits that are different from what I know from home.

When I travel, I'm usually not searching to see all the touristic sights a country has to offer, but I rather try to get in touch with locals, rent a bike and ride around, sit down to drink a coffee and watch the life on the streets, walk around randomly and do some photography, inform myself about actual political issues, or see what the local supermarkets have to offer!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Travelling doesn't make sense to me without getting to know people who live in the country! Since I am usually not too much interested in tourist attractions but rather in discovering everyday life in the the place I am visiting, I couchsurfing is the perfect way for me to travel. I've had wonderful experiences with CS so far - It’s incredible what a different view of a city or a country you get if you live with locals (or other people who have live there for a longer time)!

Intereses

Besides travelling, I am crazy about music - mostly classical and world music (especially Latin American). I play the piano and also tried out some other instruments, and I sing in a choir. I like to go to see classical concerts, operas and contemporary dance, and I love dancing myself (especially Salsa). I love to be outside in the nature and I also do a lot of sports, running, riding the bike, hiking, swimming, skiing and figure skating. Finally, if for some reason I can't be outside, I love doing creative stuff like sewing, handicrafts and baking. All in all, I'd say I'm pretty active, always trying to keep myself busy and moving a lot...

Música, películas y libros

I think I couldn't survive one day without listening to, or making music: Classical music, Latin, Balkan and music from other regions of the world. Since I grew up without a TV and never had one myself, I am not that much into movies, but I'd rather go to a concert, opera or dance performance - or watch a documentary.

Algo increíble que he hecho

One particular experience that I’ll always remember from my travels is when I was backpacking in the Middle East and I spent one night sleeping under the sky in the Jordanian desert. It’s amazing how peaceful and calm the desert was, and how many stars there were in the sky!

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I love to learn anything new! Be it a language, cooking (without meat though, since I’m a vegetarian), instruments, songs … ;-)

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I like to cook (vegetarian food) and bake! So if I find the necessary ingredients, I can make Austrian deserts or brownies :-). If you have instruments (piano, guitar, accordion) and you have easy-going neighbors, I could play you something, or if you play yourself we could do some jamming :-). I can also teach you some Latin American or Caribbean dance steps or Austrian folk songs...
