ABOUT ME

I was born in Nepal, my father is from USA and my mother is from Japan. I spent my childhood in northern Japan. I moved to USA when I was 12 years old. I lived in Colorado for 6 years, went to middle and highschool in Colorado. Then I moved to Long Beach, California for college. During my undergraduate years, I decided to do semester study abroad in South Africa. I fell in love with South Africa so I decided to move to Cape Town, South Africa for my Masters. After living in Cape Town for two years and completing my degree, I decided to travel from Peru all the way back up to California over 8months period with my friend. I volunteered and worked in exchange of free accommodation and food along the way, I danced salsa until the sun came up in Cali, Colombia, I skinny dipped in the most beautiful beaches... etc After the trip I was able to get a 6 months job in Nicaragua working for an organization that does organic farming. Currently I am still traveling South America, in process of trying to figure out my next chapter of my life :)

I can speak Japanese and English fluently. My mission is to be fluent in Spanish hopefully soon.

I played basketball all my life, and I love it! I have always been very active and always try to stay in shape. As I got older I started to enjoy running/jogging. I also enjoy yoga and my dream is to get a yoga teacher certificate. I like camping and hiking. I like to eat healthy and I love cooking. I am a conscious eater, My diet is mostly plant-based.

My major for bachelor's and master's degrees were in sociology. Sociology interests me very much and I hope to work for non-profit organization that is working toward improving society, whether that is environmental, women & girls empowerment, sports for development for at risk youths..,etc

I am open-minded. I am spiritual. I love art in many forms.

And I LOVE salsa dancing! I learned how to dance salsa in South Africa and I would love to dance salsa all over the world! Cali, Colombia was by far one of my favorite city in the world, I loved dancing in Cali.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was so fortunate to meet so many great people on CS during my 8 months backpacking trip in South and Central America. I want to eventually host travelers as soon as I have my own space but until then, I sill would love to participate by surfing as I travel, meet-ups and hanging out with other travelers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love it! I met so many wonderful generous people on CS, it gives me so much hope to see such a great community full of travelers and amazing people who are so open and generous to travelers.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

*8 months of backpacking across South and Central America was the best time of my life.
*Treking in Northern India was one of the toughest but most beautiful and inspiring experience I have done.
*Living in South Africa has shaped me to be who I am today and I will always cherish those time.
*Living in Nicaragua for 6 months, I learned so much about organic farming and the importance of it. I worked with most amazing and passionate people.

I can teach basketball skills, I can teach Japanese and English, I am knowledgeable about volunteer tourism because that was my MA thesis topic. I love food so I am knowledgeable in the field of healthy eating and lifestyles. I love cooking and cooking for my hosts. And I give really good hand massage :)

I want to learn different styles of dancing! Musical instruments, Spanish, nutrition, art...etc So much I want to learn in this world.
