About Me

I want to meet people, have interesting conversations, learn something, and have a super fun time in the process. Currently in between university and the next step (job? graduate school?) so I've decided to travel until I decide. Low key, easy going, always down for some adventure.

To (shamelessly) quote Tolkien: "Not all those who wander are lost." Half the time I'm definitely lost, but the other half is totally intentional.

I was that kid who raised his hand wildly in class and, when called, promptly forgot what I had to say.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Currently on the surfing end, hope to soon be on the hosting end soon!

Interests

I love languages, cultures, sustainable development, music, poetry, people, seeing new things, revisiting old things, good jokes, and a crazy story.

The closest museum is usually my first stop and the best coffee in town is usually my second.

Music, Movies, and Books

I can go for any epic movie. Short list: Braveheart, Gladiator, Man on Fire, Shawshank Redemption. Currently into Wes Anderson, Brit Marling/Mike Cahill works, and always down with Lord of the Rings.

I love most music from talented people. Currently on an indie folk kick and branching more into electronic goodness. Always, always down with hip hop.

Top books: Lord of the Rings trilogy, Gilead, Ender's Game, the Alchemist, and anything on ethics or religion.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

If you've been to Leon, Nicaragua, chances are you hiked Cerro Negro and/or hung out around Bigfoot Hostel. I rode a solid piece of wood down the side of the volcano, set a speed record, got my name on a board and two free mojitos.

I guess I've also lived quite near the President of the United States of America for most of my life. And I've known none of them.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach me whatever you are passionate about.

I can teach you how to make good coffee, how to play the guitar, creative ways to eat vegetables, and maybe a card game or two.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share laughs, food, stories, and new adventures. I am down to try new things and repeat old things and learn as much as I can about wherever I am!

I'm up for anything- if there's something adventurous or a great hike around, I'm in! If you want to nerd it up for a day at an art museum- perfect. If you need a wing man at the bar- I got you.
