Overview
About Me
I’m an Architecture student from Riga, Latvia coming to Braunschweig for a semester. I usually enjoy calmness, as I am more introverted, but over the years, I’ve learned how to communicate really well and enjoy meeting new people. My goal with Couchsurfing is to feel like I’m part of the community rather than just a tourist passing through. I love connecting with locals and getting a real feel for a place.
I'm into art and architecture. When I travel, I spend a lot of time exploring the city, museums and checking out cool buildings. One of my favorite travel experiences was a week-long solo trip to Berlin, where I visited some of my favourite buildings – the Neue Nationalgalerie and Neues Museum. The Neues Museum is actually something I reference at work as an example of amazing reconstruction—it really left an impression on me.
I’m always up for chatting about art, culture, or architecture, so if that’s something you’re into, I’m sure we’ll have some great conversations! Looking forward to meeting new people and sharing experiences along the way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was the scenographer for 2IVI, where I had the opportunity to create a new approach to fashion shows in Latvia using performance art. I designed sets that complemented the avant-garde clothing, using simple elements that focused on the theme of the collection, e.g. I built 9 triangles arranged in a circle that symbolized Dante's Inferno for the 1st collection and created a laboratory in an old market for the 2nd (experimental) collection, where we focused on biomaterials. My goal was to transform the space so the performance could give a catharsis-like feeling, making it feel alive and inviting the audience to become a part of the story, whether they watched from outside of hell or roamed around the market.
