About Me

Since I was a little child I had a passion for geography, loved to study my brother's maps and atlas'. A couple of years ago I realized that I'm only daydreaming and that it is time to do something about it, because the only thing holding me back was the fear of unknown. My dream is to quit the 9 to 5 lifestyle one day and be able to see every bit of this world while we still have it.

I'm an easy going, open minded person who always loves to try out something new and to push my personal boundaries. Usually, after work I meet with my friends, go on a bicycle ride or to salsa class. When I'm home I like to cook, watch tv shows, read a good book, plan the next travel. I'm a summer girl, but I also love the mountains, especially in the wintertime when we can go snowboarding!

PHILOSOPHY
Pay it forward!
You learn and advance through your experiences.
Be careful what you wish for, it might happen eventually! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of my closest friends had been traveling since he was 18 and I always heard great stories about his experiences as a couch surfer. Once I had the opportunity to have dinner with him and his guests in our hometown, and it was one of those unique experiences when you have a revelation!

Many people tend to raise an eyebrow when they first hear about the community, but it is amazing to see how people can connect and share great stories and even become friends without knowing each other beforehand.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have too many favorites for each category! :)

Music: I like mostly music with meaningful lyrics, and artists who can actually sing live without autotune, but I also like to delve into rhythm without needing to be attentive. I'm a big Red Hot Chili Peppers fan, I think it was the most mesmerizing feeling to have the opportunity to watch them live in my country! I also like Robbie Williams, MØ, Coldplay, Florence and the Machine, Dub Fx, Lykke Li, Rudimental, Ella Eyre, John Newman, etc.

Movies: all genres, except horrors. I like European and Indie movies a lot more, especially those who have something to say, or you can learn from, or have a revelation, like Captain Fantastic, Hector and the search for Happiness, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Eddie, the Eagle, Forrest Gump, The Intouchables.

But I also like big hit movies too Django Unchained, Wall-E, Love Actually, Easy Virtue, Harry Potter (yes, Harry Potter), RocknRolla, etc. And let's not forget about being a Marvel fan. Deadpool being my imaginary boyfriend.

TV Series: Friends, Game of Thrones, The Office, Parks and Recreation, Big Bang Theory, Gilmore Girls, etc.

Books: Jane Eyre, Game of Thrones, The Girl on the Train, Luckiest Girl Alive, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Define amazing :P

For me, the most amazing thing that I've done was when I donated blood and I knew it I might/will save someone's life.

Other things that might be categorized as amazing: camping for a week in the Carpathian Mountains, hiked on the second biggest mountain in Romania (Negoiu - 2535 m), wild water rafted in Croatia, zip lined over Tara Canyon in Montenegro, swimming (well, actually floating) in the Dead Sea.

Teach, Learn, Share

In Hungarian there is a saying that 'Even the pope has to study until he dies', so I find that true, as you can learn daily from every little experience.

I could teach Hungarian and Romanian, cook specific food from Transylvania, share travel and life experiences. I have a talent in reciting poems, imitating people or situations.

I would like to learn speaking fluent French (though I studied for 11 years I forgot how to speak).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would be happy to show you around the city, or near the city or even in the country (if I have the time of course). I also like to cook, so I can cook for my hosts or visitors. And I am definitely open to any discussions in many topics. I can be a swimming, a bicycle ride (the longest ride was 100 km), companion for a long walk, hiking or a movie.
