About Me
Hello everyone!
I'm Renan, from Campinas, SP, Brazil, but I'm currently living in Copenhagen, Denmark, since May 2016. I will stay in Copenhagen until the end of October.
I'm currently doing part of my PhD studies in the University of Copenhagen in the Microbiology and Immunology area. I am not that kind of travel-experienced guy, but I have been to Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands and Belgium, and I'll travel to Switzerland, Czech Republic, France, Netherlands and Germany this year.
I am a sports lover; the sports I like most are football, american football, futsal, athletism and rugby. In Campinas, I play flag football for the Unicamp Eucalyptus, the flag team of the University of Campinas.
I'm also a beer lover. If you want to go out for a beer some time, you can call me =)
If you know me, you will realize that I'm an easygoing person and like to talk about varied issues, since agricultural machines to politics and philosophy. One might say that I have left-winged ideologies, but well... you have to know me to take your conclusions.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In some occasions, and depending on the place you are, accommodations can be very expensive and the money you have might not handle it.
Thus, I see Couchsurfing as a solidarity option, mainly for students, who are almost always without money. Furthermore, Couchsurfing gives you the opportunity to meet people and make new friends (btw, I made a new friendship thanks to Couchsurfing). Making friends and helping people: there can not be any better combination.
Interests
3 things I consider to be indispensable in a person life: friends, love and work with that you like to do.
- beer
- politics
- traveling
- socializing
- sports
- american football
- soccer
- rugby
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Overall, I listen to everything, but I have a preference for rock music.

- Drama: The Godfather Trilogy, Citizen Kane, Remember the Titans, Dallas Buyers Club, Django
- Comedy: Old School, The Anchorman, The American Pie Trilogy
- Documentary/Based on real stories: The Damned United, Sicko, João Saldanha
- Animations: Shrek (all them), Rio, Saint Seiya (Heaven Chapter - Overture)
- Terror: The Exorcist, The Exorcism of Emilly Rose
Books: I never was that kind of reader guy, but I've read some books (most Brazilian), like:
- Tristan and Iseult (Joseph Bédier)
- The Werther (Johann Wolfgang Goethe)
- Las venas abiertas de América Latina (Eduardo Galeano)
- O Demônio Familiar (José de Alencar)
- Memórias Póstumas de Brás Cubas (Machado de Assis)
- Robin Hood (Howard Pyle)

Moreover, there are the many science books I've read ;)
