ABOUT ME

We are a German/Irish-American couple based in the beautiful Black Forest in Germany. Living in the heart of Europe, we love going to different places on the weekend and exploring one of our many neighbouring countries on short trips.
We are very active and barely spend a weekend at home. Why would you if you have mountains, lakes, French Wine and Italian lifestyle almost on your doorstep?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We started doing couchsurfing on our cross-country drive through the US. We've met wonderful people and had the best time!
We have since couchsurfed in Italy and have hosted people from different countries and loved it!
We've also been to numerous Couchsurfing meet-ups or games nights.

Interests

Renate: Languages, crafts, photography, ballett, travelling, hiking, decorating

Joe: Jazz and classical music, IPAs and craft beers, or any beer for that matter, not to mention whiskey, languages, travelling, American football (NFL), Baseball, Podcasts - uhh yeah dude (UYD4L), the adam carolla show, The Simpsons (Seasons 2-10), playing the vibraphone, jogging

Renate: crime stories, books on psychology, Radiolab, , series ranging from Breaking Bad through Orange is the New Black to The Killing (basically any Netflix Show)

Joe: The Real Book, podcasts, Jazz, Classical, Catch-22. I think the film Up! is the greatest film I have ever seen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Renate: Rafting, snorkeling and cliff jumping into 2 degree super clear glacier water in Iceland

Joe: Managed to play 12 years of Fantasy Football without winning a single championship. Impressive in its own way. Also, I assure you, filling out this profile was pretty amazing, but I don't know, I guess you had to be there.
