ABOUT ME

Single mom of two wonderful girls. I have dreamed of seeing the world ever since I was young. I would like to make that happen more and take my girls with me.

Moved to San Diego summer of 2012 and it has been a blast!

I'm on a mission right now to start a movement to empower women in the Philippines. I have a long way to go but so far, it's been exciting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I go to the local CS weekly meetup called Tipsy Tuesday. It's always wonderful to talk to travelers who stop by this weekly event.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a couple from Czech Republic. It was such a wonderful experience. My girls and I loved them. We would love to see them again.

Also hosted a mom and son duo from Canada. We are very very good friends now.

Interests

I love reading. I love the beach - love sitting on the sand with a book, but also love jumping the waves with my girls. I find different cultures very interesting and this is why I tend to read books that are set in different places in the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like music a lot and love a lot of songs from different genres. I can't imagine enjoying heavy metal though.

I read a book everyday. I usually finish a book in five days but I've been busy recently and miss reading!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving/Parachuting - I close my eyes and still can feel the wind against my face, hear the flapping sound of the parachute in the quiet place up there, feel my tight grip on the toggles as I steer trying very hard to stay afloat longer.

The other things that usually bring me back to the ground with a hard pull, my jaw along with it, leaving the hair on my skin up, and my soul humbled, are things in nature: Niagara Falls, Muir Woods, Whales, etc. But sometimes, man's creations do make me act like my little girl and scream, "AWESOME!" like great architecture, art, and books that move me.
