About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discovering my Creator and His Creation 1 day at a time

ABOUT ME

Born in a large family (9 children), I love to discover people, their language & culture.
Learning drawing but trying to learn & improve. Actually, I've now taken a few lessons and started painting with acrylics and I'm hooked!
I think that people are important above all other things (like 'environment' for instance).
I believe we cannot help the whole world or be everywhere, but that we can have an impact on those around us & make a difference where we may be, if only we leave aside indifference & open our eyes.
Welcoming others is a first step.
Kindness & a well-disposed & grateful heart are qualities I value & personally try to live by on a daily basis.
I appreciate people who have a curious mind & are interested in life, the infinitely great and infinitely small, in beauty, science, think before they speak or act.
I dislike rudeness, indifference, unkindness, mockery.
I am a level-headed person, realistic about life and expectations, but still pushing further & wanting my life to be full of healthy surprises.

PHILOSOPHY

Living one day at a time is on a human scale! Yesterday has come and gone, tomorrow is not ours yet. So live today to the full, as this is the only day you are given.
Knowing that every time I learn something, I discover that I don't know everything.
This just reminds me to remain humble.

That we come with our long list of criteria as to how others should be, but we all live with our past and our victories!

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in films is a bit eclectic, but generally I like adventures, good drama, comic, classics, documentaries, English period dramas, Largo Winch, Miss Marple, etc.

Music : can mention jazz, blues, Motown, French singers, classical music, Judeo-Andalucian & Arabo-Andalucian music, music of the Middle-East, etc. All these strike a special note in me and touch my emotions!

Books : biographies, auto-biographies, historical novels, study books, scientific journals, travel, poetry, art

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sailing in the Med, watching pink flamingoes fly overhead, dolphins swimming around the boat all night, seeing flying fish when the boat sinks into a wave.
Sunrise in the Pacific over Leon Dormido (Galapagos), snorkelling in the Galapagos, watching the sun set over Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives.
Seeing broken people restored through Yashua.
Visiting Petra and Jarash in Jordan.
Arriving in Kosovo in 2000 after the war and seeing all the houses with their roofs blown-off.
Watching my 2 year old daughter squealing with delight when she first saw the snow fall & shouting : "Mummy, mummy, cotton-wool! cotton-wool! Ooooo, it's cooooold! and shivering"
My children's first smile!
My son's first joke aged 2 and a half. He said in a very sombre voice: "Mummy, poplars are VERY dangerous; they have something inside that goes "POP" and explodes!", and he burst out laughing. I was amazed that such a small child would think this up!
My daugher telling me at 38 : "Mum, we had a happy childhood."

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: That talking has value, but a listening heart is of greater value.
That one of the problems of our society is indifference, and we can change the trend by our choices.
That life is worth living.
Learn: Love to learn languages, one sentence or one word at a time, which I glean here & there from the people I meet.
Share: Sharing what I may have learnt from my walk of life, but knowing we have all developed filters through our personal life experiences, so we may not be understood, sometimes.
Sharing my love of life, the joys of every day, the beauty I see, sunsets from my window, free of charge !
