About Me
For the past couple of years I've been teaching maths in a high school just south of Oxford. It's a boarding school, which is a little intense but a great experience. When I get time to myself I love learning new things: German, Piano, History, Politics and yes more maths :D I don't go clubbing very often and prefer to have friends over for dinner or going to the pub for a chat. I enjoy playing with ideas and hearing other people's perspectives; I don't take my own opinions too seriously. Though I've never studied philosophy, I like talking about it, especially ethics. I'm interested in almost everything, especially when I'm procrastinating!
I've always lived in the UK, but I want to live in Germany for a year or two at some point in the future. I visit most years. I've been learning the language for a while now and though I can only just hold a conversation I'm slowly getting better!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I couchsurfed all across Germany and the Netherlands after my first year at uni. It was such a fun trip and couchsurfing made it all the better. I met some wonderful people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Solaris, Shutter Island, 12 Angry Men, Monty Python's The Holy Grail, The Road. Generally either comedies or films that make you think.
I mostly read non-ficiton history/politics/science books, but I quite like science fiction too and a bit of Terry Pratchett.
Music, I mostly listen to piano music. Stuff like Scriabin, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Rzewski, Kapustin, Xenakis, Saariaho, Cage, Feinberg, Schoenberg.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walking into the Sagrada Familia and looking up.
Camping in a welsh field under a sky filled with thousands of stars and seeing the Milky Way's thick band across it.
Holding my breath underwater for four minutes.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach a bit of piano, or some maths if you really want!
