ABOUT ME

I'm from New Zealand, I'm living in Madrid working for an artist here, and attempting to be an artist myself(here is my last show in NZ before I left http://www.gambiacastle.net/tomorrow/1.html). I get to travel all over the place to organize exhibitions for my boss, which is just great coming from the opposite side of the world. So when I'm not working on shows I try to take a few days to explore places which otherwise I could never afford to see, thus the couch surfing.

PHILOSOPHY

This question is a bit absurd. I believe in the validation of personal identity through a structure which defers the action of power and seeks always to end domination and thus the aforementioned structure. But like I said kind of a stupid question

I'm not sure, I sleep on couches? and people sleep on mine...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

what is better than sleeping on someone that you don't knows couch? having someone you don't know sleep on yours? it's always choice you meet people you might never meet and for better or worse it's always great experience (usually better especially with the obligatory cooking)

Interests

well clearly I'm interested in Art with a capital a. I'm also a really bad saxophonist/ flautist (don't worry I seldom bring them when traveling) and have been known to take the microphone in some lousy punk bands. So I'm a lover of all music especially the less conventional forms. I love bicycles, but I think everyone does... Tennis is often good as long as refreshments are involved. Saying that being a New Zealander I'm just a fan of refreshments.
I also write occasionally I'm a fan of the confusing book review.

Music, Movies, and Books

anything from black swan records... and a lot more from other labels, listing seems a bit trite..
I watch anything, I seem to be addicted to moving light sources. I am more partial to Lindsay Anderson, not to be confused with Wes Anderson who is also great. Any epic kung fu films or anything Kurisawa did with Samurais..
I'm stuck in the 18'th and 19'th century with books, any of the enlightenment romantics, and actually any of the anti romantics as well. Anything Mary Shelley ever touched.
Also Philosophy mainly the angsty french kind.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well if you need trusses or beams resized or if you have dry wall that needs plastering I'd be happy to help. I'm a sculptor so I know quite a few tricks and trades. Also I'm not a bad cook.
