About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Building bridges between different faiths and cultural traditions

ABOUT ME

Northern Maine native looking to travel and explore more of the world around me. Owned and operated a hair salon for twenty years returning to school at 38. Three degrees later, an ordained minister in the Episcopal tradition yearning for an academic life. A naïve dreamer who sees the possible beyond the reality of the present.

Listener, searching for truth, analyzing the pieces to see how they fit together, interested in culture and how tradition is transmitted through ritual.

An animal lover (especially dogs)

Mystic at heart, musical in nature (play the piano - at least I think I do), and sometimes lost in space!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just getting started (better late than never) and being guided by couchsurfing friends who are passing the word.

Interests

Good conversation (goes with good wine), Celtic spirituality, living a healty lifestyle, strength training, beginning biker, cooking for others, meditation!

Music, Movies, and Books

Eclectic taste in movies, but prefer ones with heart and soul (Seraphine, A River Runs Through It, Departures, Eat Pray Love, Under the Tuscan Sun)

Music of all sorts: classical(Beethoven, Mozart, John Tavener) dance(Madonna, Rihanna, Usher) jazz/blues (Adele, Joe Crocher) exotic/ethereal (Rita, Enya, Sarah Brightman) Rock/pop/sappy (Evanescence, Fleetwood Mac, Celine Dion, Carly Simon, Elton John, Frank Sinatra)

Books are my addiction, J. Philip Newell, Pema Chodron, Joan Chittister, Paul Knitter, Ester De Waal. (gosh, sounds like a college reading list...I need to do something about that)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taking the journey inward to my true self. Wrestling with the good-bad-ugly, the all of who I am, and being transformed by the experience into a person of balance and harmony...at least on a good day.

Teach, Learn, Share

An amateur of many things and willing to learn and share some of my knowledge/experience with sitting meditation, The Rule of St. Benedict, hair cutting (useful skill from time to time), photography, healthy cooking, hiking. Would love to learn yoga and improve in swimming.
