Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
After travelling for a year, working out the next plan to avoid the potentially dangerous mediocre world of work, commitments and predictability. Often made possible by restless compadres and cheap energy
ABOUT ME
I wildy swing between the persona of the dutiful public servant raising awareness of climate change and devotee/purveyor of adventure and creativity.
How that schizophrenia plays out is an age old riddle, regularly solved with the use of modern technology, flexible work hours and living in one of the best corners of oz.
in short - likes : going on town and country adventures with at least equally adventurous acquaintances (any adventures with strong musical, culinary, exploratory or psychological themes are high priority), creating things (eg, music, food, visual art, physical challenges for over-confident male associates), social situations that have a mix of blunt wit, hedonism, open-mindedness, tolerance and unpretentiousness
Dislikes : middle age men who think they own the road + the waves + pretty much the rest world, brussel sprouts (they are the balls of the devil) & climate change denialists, which part of 'logical proof' or 'material evidence' don't you people understand.
PHILOSOPHY
trying to increase the levels of gross domestic happiness.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
It has been great to stay with local people around the world and bring the good energy of traveling into their house. Its always great to meet travelers here and show them the local life, satisfy curiosities and generally entertain (even at my own expense).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
traveling around australia, canada and europe. All great people, great times and i hope i can return the favor one day. one of the best stays was with about 15 other couchsurfers in one room for a week. more the better.
Interests
making pinatas, brewing beer, musical performances, creating art, heading into the great outdoors at any opportunity, surfing/riding everyday, diving/fishing for dinner, cooking mixed-culture banquets, eg, potato & leek soup, stir-fried seafood followed by a pavlova (the confusion that is Australian cooking), going on last minute flights/road trips around the country.

Music, Movies, and Books
music - hmmm, its probably easier if i just say, not mindless shit (read - House).
movies - Whos afraid of Virginia Woolf? or anything that portrays a domestic nightmare, Barry Lyndon, Bliss, modern fairy tales and kitschy comedies should be illegal...
books - the bits of 'thus spoke zarathustra' i understand, green eggs and ham
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
just one! a bit limiting & a bit subjective, representing Australia at the UN at 24yrs was something, stood 5 metres away from a lightning strike and also avoided being killed/maimed riding a motorbike on italy's roads for a month. note: not necessarily in order of amazingness.
Teach, Learn, Share
we can teach people how play the didgeridoo, surf, get into a music festival/moto GP for free, fly a kite, tips on how to navigate the notorious australian immigration system, how to make the most radical chocolate cake, travel stories/advice, how to survive in the bush, how to survive in Melbourne, 10 reasons not to go to Adelaide...
