Overview
About Me
There are few things that don't fascinate me. And because of that, travelling for me is simply euphoric. I love change and new and the unfamiliar. I love books, I've spent a huge part of the first twenty years of my life in books and hopefully the remaining travelling and learning. I'm quite random with a strong tendency to go off on tangents and am very given to parentheses. I love learning, and would spend the rest of my life studying all sorts of things if given the opportunity to do so. I feel nostalgic for things I've never experienced but wish I had. I want to work in international development so I get to see the world. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by how much is there to do and see and how little time there is.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm pretty new to CS and trying to get involved in a number of the highly interesting things people seem to be up to.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm super new to Couchsurfing,so I still have a lot to experience (mostly good things, I expect)
Interests
Pottery, cooking and old British comedies. It Ain't Half Hot Mum and Fawlty Towers are the best.
And it's my ultimate dream to have a little pottery studio in a lighthouse.
Things I like could also be any of the following depending on my mood; rain, smoking pipes, trains, the smell of coffee (just the smell), grass, fireflies, peppermint tea, pocket watches, liquorice, clay, LPs, wooden floors, the smell of old books, lilies, Van Gogh, conversations, scotch, bay windows, peaches, flavoured teas, fireplaces, eggs with salad dressing, the words impermanence and seamless, cloudy days.
Oh and I love the outdoors, camping, trekking, kayaking, anything outside.
Music, Movies, and Books
Extremely eclectic tastes in all three.
I like everything from classical to indie to EDM. Although I could listen to Van Morrison all day.
Movies, Braveheart would have to be my favourite.
My Favourite books are Kenneth Grahame's Wind in the Willows and Jean-Jacques Rousseau's Emile.
Some of my favourite writers are Allan Bloom, Amitav Ghosh, Derek Walcott, Stendhal, Deni Y Bechard, Pablo Neruda, Dylan Thomas.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm volunteering as an ESL teacher to Hispanic seniors,I love sharing things and conversations and ideas, just about anything. I also LOVE baking for people.
