ABOUT ME

There's two of us - meet myself, Rhiannon, 25, and Martyn, 27. We're very good mates who lived together for 2 years before embarking upon a big tour of Oz.
We have been here for almost 10 months now and have been to almost every part of Oz now! We're pretty much done now and sorted with couches so for now we're good!

We met at Uni in Manchester and studied similair degrees (theatre and media and arty stuff!) so are into all that stuff. We're also both into fitness (Mart more than Rhi) and love comedy (Rhi more than Mart). Rhi actually does stand up comedy when she gets the chance :-) Mart's job was an assistant manager at a popular Shooter Bar after graduating, and Rhi worked in theatre - box office and ushering.

PHILOSOPHY

Probably all the cliches - seize every opportunity, life isn't a dress rehearsal, life is what you make it etc etc!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have a couple of friends who would have not got around Europe without this site! We are hoping to couchsurf all the way from Sydney to Byron to Gold Coast to Brisbane. Struggling for Sydney - any takers?!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We hosted three couchsurfers unofficially very last minute recently at our place in Melbourne.

Rhiannon:
Movies - Lola Rennt, Team America, Airplane, Memento, Fight Club, Beaches, Steel Magnolias, Minority Report, Vanilla Sky.
Books - The Time Travellers Wife, Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy 'trilogy' , anything by Chuck Palanhiuk and I'm always gonna love Roald Dahl!
Music - Drum'n'Bass, 90's indie mainly.

Martyn:
Movies - Donnie Darko, Cruel intentions, American Beauty. Also anything old school eg Labyrinth, Drop Dead Fred.
Music - Iv'e worked in a bar for years so anything goes as long as it's not R n B.
Books - My sister been got me into reading Marian Keys which I love.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For myself, Rhiannon, being a stand up comedian who dreams of my big break and idolises after so many comedians, my best moment was when I got to meet my fave comedian Eddie Izzard and spent the whole evening at the same party as him, where we ocassionnaly chatted!

For myself, Martyn, I could not have planned my life out like if I tried. I qualified as a chef after college, then went to Uni and got a degree and job as a bar Manager, now going to travel around Oz. I think it's all very amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

Rhiannon is a fluent Welsh Speaker and is happy to teach phrases and the long station name! She also loves to juggle and have been told she's a really good teacher at it. I am now currently learning the didjeridu.
Martyn knows every shooter made, and has also worked as a Chef for a number of years plus a multitude of higher education courses.
