Hey. Que onda. My name's Ria, I left my home country in 2015 and since had a lot of low budget adventures, including living in a cave for some months and hitchhiking over 100,000km across Europe to Georgia, and in Mexico and Colombia. After this long nomad existance, I began my PhD studies in forest ecology in Prague, Czech Republic, and I’m now passionately working to protect the old-growth forests of Europe (for now…). This dream job allows me to travel for several months of the year to remote regions to study our most wonderful forests. Meanwhile I try to get out of the city as much as possible to keep life full of new experiences. Basically anything with the body, and anything outside. I am absolutely in love with climbing mountains.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

as cliche as it is, to meet with a local is an enriching experience; it's proper cultural immersion that simply cannot be obtained from staying in a hostel. I am not travelling to see tourist shit with other travellers, i'm travelling to learn about different cultures. I have made friends for life through couchsurfing. The random encounters of hosting is pretty great, so wilkommen!
