I'm Rianne, 30 years old and have been living in Rotterdam for the past 5 years. I work at the Amsterdam medical center as a research technician and also started my own company Vyana yoga last year being a yoga teacher and Thai yoga masseuse.

I find life fascinating and am learning more and more each day. Yoga (and everything that comes with it; meditation, movement, basically just awareness in all I do, helps me to learn more about myself and other people.
I feel that it's great and special to meet new people, share life stories and discover what it is that makes someone happy and how lives are lived to become happier and your best version of yourself.
I also started surfing almost 2 years ago and it always makes me smile. Loving the sea and nature, being outside, the sun, travelling, my cat, good (healthy) food, music and a lot more.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To be honest I'm not sure yet. Just curious about how this works. Interested in meeting people who are openminded and are more about sharing what they have to make the world a bit more sustainable and social.

Interests

yoga in (almost) all it's forms, started playing around with acro yoga over a year ago, great fun, especially on the beach in the sun! Surfing, even in the cold Dutch winter sea :) being outside, either at the beach, in the forest or the jungle (love the jungle) or just in my hammock in the garden, growing some veggies and fruit. Or being indoors on the couch with my cat or guitar or on my yoga mat with good music or good company or good food.

Music, Movies, and Books

Big fan of singer-songwriter music, Ben Howard, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Fink, Damien Rice also love Elbow. Last year I went to Marokko and have to say that the African music was really creating a great mood all the time. Sometimes good rock music is nice sometimes bit more jazzy as long as it has real instruments in it and I can appreciate beautiful lyrics.

I like good arthouse movies, the really good more holywood films that you shoudl have seen (although I've probably haven't seen several really good ones) and lately I've been watching some nice surfmovies and love the good animation movies like minions and good old disney :). Don't watch that many movies though, more of a series kind of person; game of thrones, suits, the good wife, castle, hannibal, vikings, the big bang theory, elementary, stuff like that.

And books, have to say I usually read books that I can learn from. Lot of yoga/life related books. Have read the game of thrones, millenium trilogy and the hunger games books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

just one.. hmm maybe then just living my life, its pretty amazing in its big but also, and maybe even more in its small things.
I've started my own business, still new but amazing, to see what the yoga or massages can do with people. I've travelled to a few amazing places, met amazing people. So even though life doesn't always feel amazing, if I look at the big picture it sure is :)
