I’m Matías, originally from Argentina 🇦🇷 and currently preparing for a new chapter in my life: moving to Guyana. I’ve always felt curious about the world and the people who live in it. I love long conversations, discovering local cultures, and finding beauty in simple moments like sharing a meal, walking through a city at night, or watching the sunset somewhere new.

Friends usually describe me as calm, open-minded and thoughtful. I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and learning how they see the world. For me, traveling is not about checking places off a list — it’s about connection.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me Couchsurfing is one of the most beautiful ways to travel. It’s not just about a place to sleep — it’s about meeting people, sharing stories, and seeing places through the eyes of locals.

Some of the best memories of my travels come from unexpected conversations in kitchens, spontaneous adventures, and friendships that started with a simple “welcome”.

I believe hospitality is one of the purest forms of human connection.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music is very eclectic. I enjoy everything from Latin folk and Argentine rock to electronic and world music. Music for me is a way to travel without moving.

For movies I love stories that make you think or feel something deep — independent cinema, documentaries, and films that explore human nature.

Books I enjoy are usually about philosophy, psychology, spirituality, and nature. I also love stories about travelers and explorers. A good book and a quiet place is one of my favorite combinations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I’ve done was deciding to change my life direction and move to a completely new country. Leaving your comfort zone and trusting the journey is both scary and beautiful.

Traveling has taught me that sometimes the best decisions are the ones that don’t make perfect sense at the beginning.
