About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Eager to keep exploring the planet and meeting new friends. There is no finish line!

ABOUT ME

I'm curious about what makes us tick and how we keep at it. Travel has been the best educator for me. Recently I was in Tbilisi for several months as advisor to Ministry of Environment on Protected Areas, aka national parks. In 2011, I sailed to the Azores from US. on 36 foot ketch. Spent fall 2012 in Kenya as economic development advisor.

The Discovery Channel is NOT how I learn about people. I believe nothing tops the educational importance of visiting face-to-face and seeing how others live.

I do strategic planning for non-profits, NGOs in third world and USA.

PHILOSOPHY

We are here to make the planet a better place than we found it, and we only get one go-round.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a busy volunteer in my community and beyond, giving of my time, resources, and collected experience to strengthen organizations and benefit others.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have learned so much from hosts and guests! More frequently a guest than a host, I look forward to paying it back.

Interests

Art, music, crafts, running, wine and food, hiking. Most importantly, people sharing tales of their families, work, country.

Music, Movies & Books

I read new fiction and old classics. I enjoy French movies and independents. I'm a big music fan, everything from Bob Dylan to Wagner.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Hiking the entire Camino de Santiago de Campostella, or did it hike me? The experience was very zen-like and enhanced my spiritual feelings.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a good listener, and willing to share my experiences. Comfortable with all ages.

What I Can Share With Hosts

Conversation, modest cooking skills.
