About Me

And here I am again in this beautiful world! I haven't been back in these parts for years, so I have to update my biography.

Well, where were we?

I'm a man from Palermo who is viscerally in love with the sea. But I have also lived where there is no salt water, despite the fact that one of the most famous dishes is anchovy-based: Turin! A few years ago I returned to my beautiful city where I study and work.

In recent years I have worked a lot with children in schools, especially in disadvantaged neighbourhoods. More recently, I have been particularly active in communities for migrants - in a period, let's face it, not easy in Italy. Finally, in the last year I have conducted (and am still conducting) research in the juvenile facility in Palermo for my PhD.

In short, in one way or another I always find myself among the last, the marginalised, the dispossessed, and I will tell you more: I am better off among them than among the hypocritical and bourgeois smiles of the streets downtown. I am really growing old badly, gruff and grumpy!

I love eating, travelling and discovering small islands. I love animals, the company of a dog, collecting chestnuts after rainy autumn days. I like fishing - not indiscriminate, selective! - and being in nature. But I don't disdain parties, the company of friends, wine, beer and pastis!

I read a lot, both for work and for pleasure. What is your favourite book?

I am curious, open-minded, anti-fascist and enthusiastic about small things. But given my psychological training, I'm also very analytical and reflective.

I have lived in France, travelled around Argentina as a street vendor and will now spend some time in England. Anyone willing to be my cicerone?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Randomness! I joined in 2013, but I started using it only in the summer of 2015, when I hosted surfers that my friends couldn't have! And I thank them so much! So I had the opportunity to make some great experiences and to met awesome travelers, which I confront, talk, hang out and some much more!

Interests

I really love to draw and paint, as well as sculpture. Everything concerning creativity just enchants me! for this reason i love theatre, cinema and readings too. At the same time, one of my best interest is playing chess! Can I challenge you?
