About Me
I'm Rick, an international school teacher currently based in Beijing. I love traveling, meeting new people, and immersing myself in different cultures. Teaching has taken me to amazing places, and I’m always looking for new experiences, whether it’s exploring a city’s hidden gems, trying local street food, or learning about different ways of life. I'm easygoing, open-minded, and always up for a good conversation about travel, education, economics, or anything interesting.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is about sharing experiences, exchanging ideas, and connecting with locals and fellow travelers. I enjoy learning from others, hearing their stories, and making meaningful connections along the way. Whether it’s exploring a city together, sharing a meal, or just having a great conversation, I believe the best travel experiences come from the people you meet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I used to be the official live streamer for the city of Seoul, sharing the city’s culture, events, and hidden gems with the world. Now, I run a YouTube channel where I document my travels and experiences. You can also find me on TikTok and Instagram at Richard A Travels, where I share travel tips, fun moments, and adventures from around the world!
Teach, Learn, Share
I’m an English teacher, which means I can help you improve your grammar—whether you want me to or not! If you’ve ever wanted someone to casually correct your “your” vs. “you’re” in everyday conversation, I’m your guy. But don’t worry, I promise to only unleash my teacher mode if you actually want to learn. Otherwise, we can just laugh at the weirdness of the English language together—because let’s be honest, why is "read" pronounced differently in the past tense? Even I don’t have all the answers!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversation, stories from my travels, and insights into different cultures and education. If you're learning English, I’m happy to help with conversation practice or writing tips (no pressure, though—I promise not to correct your grammar unless you ask!). I also love exploring new places, so if you're up for an adventure, I'd be happy to join you or swap recommendations. Plus, if you play Pokémon GO, we can do some raids and trades together!
