Sobre mí

Hi! I'm Richard from Slovakia — a 16-year-old music lover, adventurer at heart. I love meeting new people, sharing stories, and discovering places through the eyes of locals. I play guitar and piano, love to enjoy meaningful conversations and always try to travel with kindness and curiosity. I'm currently exploring Europe on a low budget, so Couchsurfing is a great way for me to connect with people and learn along the way!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I love the feeling of arriving in a new place and being welcomed like a friend, not just a tourist. I’ve realized that the most memorable parts of my travels are always the people — the shared meals, the random talks in kitchens, the little moments that make you feel at home even far from home.

Right now, I’m traveling with almost no budget — mostly hitchhiking, carrying my backpack, sometimes playing guitar on the street. But I’m not just looking for a couch. I’m looking for connection, kindness, and real-life stories. I want to meet people who live differently, think differently, and are open to exchanging a moment in this crazy world together.

I don’t have much to offer in terms of money, but I’m always happy to help out, share food, music, stories, or just be a respectful and thoughtful guest. I think Couchsurfing is such a beautiful way to build trust between strangers — and I’m really grateful it exists.

Música, películas y libros

One of my biggest loves is music, and my favorite band by far is Imagine Dragons. I’ve been listening to them for years, and their songs somehow always hit the right spot — whether I need energy, comfort, or just something to sing at full volume. I connect with the emotion in their lyrics and the power behind their sound. Tracks like Demons, Amsterdam, or It’s Time feel like they’ve grown with me through different moments in life. Their music gives me motivation and feels like a soundtrack to many of my memories — especially while traveling or skating through the streets with headphones in.

Algo increíble que he hecho

One of the most amazing things I’ve done is my current journey from Slovakia to Italy (and back-of course:D)— traveling overland with almost no money, just my backpack, guitar, and trust in people. I’m hitchhiking, busking, and meeting strangers who turn into stories. My goal is to reach the Rainbow Gathering in the mountains of Abruzzo, but really, it’s about the journey itself — the small towns, the roadside conversations, the kindness I didn’t expect. It’s been challenging, beautiful, and freeing — and it’s reminded me how much magic there is when you just step out and go.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

Did you know that Beethoven kept composing even after he went completely deaf? From the beggining, he put 4 strings on each piano´s key except- there should be just one!! Later, he couldn't hear a single note, but he still "heard" the music in his head — and some of his most powerful works, like the 9th Symphony (Ode to Joy), were written in total silence. It’s wild to think that one of the most famous melodies in history was never actually heard by the person who wrote it.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I might not travel with much, but I always try to bring good energy, curiosity, and gratitude wherever I go. I can share stories from the road, a simple home-cooked meal, and a few songs on the guitar if you're up for some music. I'm also happy to help out around the house or with anything practical — I believe in being a guest who gives, not just takes. If you're curious about Slovakia or want to trade languages, culture, or just sit and talk about life, I’m always up for that.
