Hello! My name is Richard, I'm from United States and am currently traveling through the United States in a minivan with a friend.

I'm brand new to couch surfing, and am trying my best to build my profile to get to meet some nice people!

I am fairly talkative, and easygoing, especially if I feel a strong connection to whoever I am talkting to. Common conversation topics for me include:

-Culture, and how people around the world are all so different while at the same time bing so similar

-Travel, and the many different experiences we all share doing it

-Sports, especially football/soccer/calcio/whatever you want to call it

-Politics, whether that's American politics or otherwise!

-Music, sharing different artists, and exploring new tastes

-Cuisine! Food! I'm always looking to try new food, regardless of how different it may be

-Language, how it's shaped, how it's evolved over time

And so much more!

Having deep and honest conversations is the best way to share meaningful experiences, and I am always hoping to meet new people to share these sorts of experiences with.

We are all here on Earth for a very short time. It's up to us to use that time to spread as much good will as we can, to leave this world a little better than we entered. When I finally die, my immortality will be the positive impact that I have had on those who I have come in contact with. I hope that by knowing me, you will become a better person. And that you in turn will be able to help others to become better people. And that they in turn can also help others to be better people! And so on and so on :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel, and to meet new people! I believe that by meeting a variety of people, it will open your mind.

Too often, people I know are quick to judge others as "different" or "strange. They aren't ever willing to look deeper, to find the inner beauty that each and every single human being holds within. Just because somebody looks different, speaks a foreign language, or has curious habits, doesn't mean that they aren't worth getting to know!

I love music, and I play a little bit of guitar.

I may not be the best cook, but I always enjoy taking the time to cook a nice meal for myself or for friends!

I enjoy nature - I love hiking in a hill or a mountain, rowing a canoe or a kayak, or just going for a nice walk with some friendly company!

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: Jazz, Blues,Funk, Rap, Hip Hop, Punk, Folk, just about everything!

MOVIES: I am not a huge "movie person", but I do sitting down to enjoy a nice cultural piece of cinema every now and then!

BOOKS: I don't read as often as I should. That being said, I always enjoy a good Kurt Vonnegut book, and usually have a comic book that I am working through.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've taken a risk and spent a full year living in Spain, moving out here all on my own. So far it's been a marvellous experience, traveling throughout all of Eurpoe and making some wonderful and amazing friends in the process

Teach, Learn, Share

I am an English teacher, so if you need any help with English conversation, I'm here for you! I'm fully bilingual, so can even help you out with some Spanish ;) I also enjoy learning about new languages, they absolutely fascinate me!

I play a little guitar and love to play music with others as best as I can. I would love to be able to sing better, and would appreciate any help furthering my music abilities!

I love to share a laugh or a good conversation with people.

And of course, I always love sharing a beer or a nice bottle of wine with some friends :)
