About Me

I'm just a guy, in a town, in a state, in a country, on a continent, on the planet earth, in a solar system, in the Milky Way, in a galaxy group, in a supercluster, in the universe. I am passionate about making music, and the arts in general, but it's a tough way to make a living. I have worked many corporate day gigs, but they feel so NOT ME. I enjoy travelling, meeting people and going to Science Fiction conventions and the like.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend recommended that I check this site out to try to find a place to stay for an upcoming Convention in Bloomington, MN. I like the idea of this, and while I am not set up to Host at the moment, I will be in the future. I really like this kind of social networking.

Interests

Music, Audio Production, films, documentaries, science fiction, cycling, curling (ice sport). I am basically a lacto-ovo-vegetarian, and I try to eat well and stay in shape. I enjoy good conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music wise I enjoy Progressive rock (Gentle Giant), Fusion (Allan Holdsworth, Steve Morse), baroque, many forms of jazz. It goes on and on.

I like good stories. So while I like all of the Science Fiction classics (Star Wars, Alien, etc...) I tend to prefer indie films with good stories. The Station Agent comes to mind. The film that put Peter Dinklage on the map.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wow. How do I answer this?

I was on the road with a regional rock band in the 80s, as their lighting director, while I was still in high school. That was very cool. The experience was amazing.

I was chatting with a friend when I got to this part of the profile, and I asked him what I should put. He asked me, "Have you ever saved anyone's life?" I hadn't thought about it in a while, but it turns out I have. I was working one day, many years ago, and a guy named Bill was eating those mini carrots... the kind you get in a bag, and he started choking on one. For real. He wasn't kidding around. Well I am from the generation where you saw the PSA's for the Heimlich Maneuver on TV all the time when I was young. I did my best to remember what to do, and did it a few times, and the carrot eventually went flying out of his mouth.

What I Can Share with Hosts
