Hi everyone! I'm Richard. I'm originally from Shanghai, China, and currently live in Tokyo. I'm 22 years old and a student at Hosei University, majoring in the Faculty of Global and Interdisciplinary Studies. I am currently in the United States on a study exchange program. Given my background, I can offer a lot of interesting perspectives and stories!

I'm on Couchsurfing because I'm excited to meet friends from all over the world, share our stories and perspectives, and travel more affordably.I'm currently on an exchange program in the U.S., so I'm really eager to experience more of the local culture and way of life. As a guest, I am very respectful of my host's home and rules. I always keep things clean and tidy. I'd be more than happy to share my travel adventures with you, or even better, cook you an authentic Shanghainese meal!

What I Can Share with Hosts

For me, Couchsurfing is all about the cultural exchange. More than just a place to sleep, I'm excited to share a piece of my world with you. I can cook you an authentic Shanghainese meal (like Hong Shao Rou) and share stories about the fast-paced life in Shanghai versus my experiences as a student in Tokyo. I'd also love to teach you some basic Mandarin or Japanese phrases! Of course, I'm always happy to help with daily chores or simply be a good listener for your own stories. I believe in making it a two-way, memorable experience for both of us.
