À propos de moi

ABOUT ME

I am a self-proclaimed Geek, but you wouldn't know it at first sight. I generally have a big chessy smile on my face. When I was younger, I had dark thick curly brown hair and now I am completely bald (thank god I have a nicely shaped head!?). My wife and kids gave me the nickname, MAJOR RETARD, which claim proudly. During my 13+ years in the Army, I am most proud of the fact that I never had to hurt another human being. I am not religious, but I do believe there is something much bigger than me going on out there.

Centres d'intérêt

I read alot of books (mostly scifi) and watch alot of movies (mostly scifi). I love to travel and visit new places. I can't stay in any one place more than 3 years, but I think to fully appreciate a new place, especially its culture and people, you need to stay for at least a month. I love to play team sports, but I'm not really competitive. I just like having fun being active with two or more people. I now a little French (un peu) and hope to become fluent soon. I signed up for CouchSurfing based on the recommendation of Benny, the Irish Polyglot (Fluent in 3 months). I hope I can meet people through this community who are interested in speaking French. I am scheduled to participate two week foreign exchange to Paris this spring and really want to be able to speak the language as well as a 3 year-old by then (just being realistic).

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

The most amazing experience of my life was the birth of my daughter Ava. Second, was that my wife actually said yes when I asked her to marry me (we both still don't know what she was thinking). Flying helicopters is pretty high up on my list of experiences, though I don't do it much anymore. I have walked along the Great Wall of China, hiked down into the Grand Canyon, and slept out on the sand dunes of White Sands.
