About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To share stories with people. Mine with them. Theirs with me. To effect and be effected in the process. To build friendships with a positive impact. Ones that matter in some small or great way. And to enjoy the journey!

ABOUT ME

I'm a laid back guy. Love exploring. Especially if it involves nature or other cultures or a good photo opportunity. I have a personal goal of trying every food somebody puts in front of me (assuming some group of people somewhere in the world considers it a normal dish). And I'm pretty dang friendly. That would be the first thing anyone would say about me. If I was a concert, I'd be a small venue with tables and chairs, with the audience close enough to learn something about the band and vice versa, and the band playing some odd mix of folky ethno music with some techno undertones. And somewhere there would be an old guy with no teeth and a great smile just taking the scene in.

PHILOSOPHY

If it's not based around genuine care and concern and love. It's not worth living for. God is. And it's worth spending my life to get to know Him.

Interests

Nature. Culture. Deep conversations over coffee or a corona. Knowing and being known. Impacting and being impacted.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to count. But my recent book was the sequel to Ender's Game..."Speaker for the Dead." First time in a while a novel has altered my thinking on life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, there's an experience I had on a remote peninsula in the Dominican Republic. It was a very sudden and very intense awareness of the world in a way I'd never seen it. It has effected me more than any other experience in my adult life. But it's too much to explain here. If I meet you, ask me!

Teach, Learn, Share

Love to share what I know on music, occupational therapy for kids, insights from culture hopping, personal experience with getting to know and attempting to follow God. Those are the same things I'd like to learn other's experiences as well.
