I’m Yan (Richard is my English name), originally from China and have been in the Netherlands for +15 years. I work in finance and data analytics, and I love exploring new cities through local food, stories, and everyday culture.

I’m friendly, respectful, and curious about how people live in different parts of the world. When I travel, I enjoy sharing good conversations over dinner or coffee, learning about local traditions, and discovering places that tourists often miss.

Outside work, I like playing squash, watercolor painting, and cooking .

My first CouchSurfing experience was staying in a German lady's house, and it turned out that we have a lot in common and similar personalities. Fantastic experience in my life !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- offered to pay macrons as a x-mas gift for two children that I don't know in a chocolate shop.
- set up my own family (including owning a house) in the NL after 10 years of hard work

-Teach: I can teach you how to cook Chinese food and play table-tennis, show you Chinese Kongfu, and anything about accounting / finance.

-Learn: I'd love to learn local culture, tradition, and history.
