About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to work out what all this is about

ABOUT ME

I'm in many ways a typical unassuming ginger guy. I went to school, went to uni, and then went and lived in moscow for a while. I really like teaching, I think it's what I enjoy most. but i also really like chatting with people, especially over a cold beer. Oh, and I like running and football.

PHILOSOPHY

I guess my philosophy in life is to find what you want, and then make sure that you do it. I really like teaching and travelling, so that's what I'm doing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I guess by hosting people and trying to be a kind and curteous guest if i stay somewhere.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with some members in St Petersburg and had the best weekend. I also went to a couple of gatherings in moscow and have a couple of really cool mates from there.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really am interested in Russian literature. My favourite book is probably 'the first circle' by Solzhenitsyn. but you can't look past Orwell's '1984' either.

In music, I like bands such as the Strokes and Editors. but for dancing to, well anything with a beat i can grab hold of.

My favourite film is probably 'trainspotting'. I'm trying to get away from hollywood films but it's really difficult!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i managed to run through lots of pain to complete a marathon (must be experienced to understand).

i travelled by train from hong kong to birmingham.

i survived commuting on the moscow underground for 18 months (harder than it sounds)

Teach, Learn, Share

'does your ass fit you' (zdrazvitye) is 'hello' in russian.
