There are a lot of sites out there for finding volunteer jobs, some legit, some not. I use helpx.net on my travels and I highly recommend it. I got a job working on an island off the East Coast of Malaysia, worked in an eco rice paddy in Eastern Thailand, an orphanage in rural Cambodia, and a farm in the Himalayas.
