About Me

I am a junior in college majoring in English (and will possibly be pursuing a law agree upon graduation). Awesome music and engaging books are two of my favorite things right after stimulating and interesting conversations. I recently caught the travel bug and am working as a volunteer farm (with the WWOOF program) and traveling around Japan. I can speak English and a healthy amount of both Japanese and Spanish.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm volunteer farming and traveling around Japan during my first abroad travel experience. I love getting to meet new people and learn about the unique and interesting life stories that everyone has gathered over the years.

Interests

I love food science, cooking, and (of course) eating great meals. I've never met anyone that I can't talk about music or movies at length with - aka I enjoy modern culture talk. And I enjoy walking while catching up on all my favorite podcasts.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music tastes really cover the full spectrum of genres but I usually enjoy indie/alternative rock. Also, I know it's not a musical genre, but I love podcasts - anything produced by NPR, This American Life, or Gimlet is right up my alley.

As far as movies go I love anything by Wes Anderson, the Coen Brothers, or Quentin Tarantino, but my taste is a bit eclectic and I'll enjoy a few classics every now and then.

As a southern I love a good southern gothic novel, like a William Faulkner but I also appreciate more modern styles like Haruki Murakami.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's not that amazing, but I host and produce a radio show at my college about music and music commentary - it's called "Modern Nostalgia" and in it I cover new bands that I like while also exploring their muses from music's past.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love helping people with any task - especially learning about literature or music as I consider those my two biggest passions/interests.

Additionally, I am always up to learn about other people's interests or passions as those are the things that bring everyone the most joy.

I am always happy to share good food, music, or book recommendations!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good sense of humor, a very easygoing (but helpful) personality, and great conversation on just about anything.
