I was born in Michigan, but I grew up in Oakland, Ca. I have traveled quite a bit around Europe, and I settled in Burgos, Spain, in1992. Apart from being a very "active" teacher for 5th and 6th graders, I'm a husband and father and a semi-professional musician. I have recorded 2 CD's of original music, one of which (Rick Maurer: Falling to the Sky) you can find on Spotify. I also have a Youtube channel, Rick Maurer, as well as a Facebook page Rick Maurer's Music. Apart from music, I also lead a conversation group at a bar here in Burgos.
