ABOUT ME

After 4 decades I still dont know what I want to do with my life, so Im just going to travel and see the places that I read about as a kid.I set off around the world in September 2010 and apart from nipping home for a few weeks Im still going. I really should grow up, go home, get a job and settle down, but I have itchy feet I think I may just avoid having to go home.....ever!!
I travelled from London to Sydney on a bloody bus, then New Zealand, Fiji, back to Oz for a 2 month road trip. Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam followed. Then Hong Kong and 5 weeks in China. I completed the circumnavigation of the globe by visiting USA and Canada before nipping home for ten weeks. Now, I am on my way around for a second time....but im doing it the other way.... There is obviously something a bit wonky in my head!!
I also try to Jump The World, on occasion....see...

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I havent done much couchsurfing - just 3 stays in Oz last year, but they were good experiences. I want to do more, to learn a bit about places from the people who live there rather than just turning up and doing the touristy stuff.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A few stays in Oz. One, was brilliant - a good bloke and a cool dog. A second stay was good - a good host and a good group of people. A third stay lasted only one night - when 12 poeple turned up for 2 beds. The living room floor was full and we decided to give the other surfers some room. All in all good fun though.

Interessen

Travelling - obviously. Listening in to other peoples conversations, especially on buses. Nights out, nights in. Sleeping. Beer, wine, food. Snowboarding, footy (soccer) Ice Hockey, cricket, F1, curling, running, soaking in the bath and watching TV or movies while I am in there. Cooking great british food...

Ill watch any movie, read any book and listen to most music then I shall tell you if I liked it or not!!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Mt Bromo, was off limits, but we climbed a staircase that leads to the volcano crater and looked inside. We saw the lava and magma emerging from the bowels of the earth. It was just amazing.
