Love to explore new places, enjoy good food and wine, meeting new people and making new friends, showing people around Boston and New England and having locals share their cities and culture. I have lived in many places throughout the US and UK. I spent a week trekking through the vineyards of Alsace, France tasting the food, wines and grapes last September. Now I am returning! Just before the pandemic arrived, I completed a 3-week meander through France, Switzerland and Norway. I am planning to hike Portugal's Rota Vicentina, Brazil, and who knows where in the next year. Any suggestions? I hope to explore the world on foot with long treks every three months or so.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting, socializing and learning from new people. I am always amazed at the diversity of people's interests and experiences. Couchsurfers teach me about new places and things (even in my hometown) and open my eyes to the lives of people from other countries and background.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently went on an elk photography safari in the wilds of Pennsylvania where I encountered a bear about 10 feet away. Spent over a month on an ocean research ship conducting experiments...ask me about the characters on board the ship!
