ABOUT ME

Í'm Rik 23 years old, and at the moment I live in Utrecht, the Netherlands. I've attemted at two studies at the university just to find out I want to cook, so I became a cook.
I live in a nice student house 20 minutes walking from the center of Utrecht right next to a big park.
I'm the youngest of 3, having 2 older sisters, wich was like having 3 mothers. But since a couple of years, now everyone, is working we have grew much closer.
I enjoy cooking for people, especially my housemates, for we always find another bottle of wine when one is empty.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Last spetember I did a 3 month trip to the USA and had the pleasure of surfing with some great people, did a few couchsurf activities like visiting musea and a 2 week roadtrip and now I hope I can return the favor.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined CS because I'm was going to travel to the USA for 3 months, and I i fell in love with a concept.

Intereses

Interests are always a tricky thing to define, since there are so many interesting things.
But, as a cook I have a great interest in new ingredients, ways of cooking and of course flavours.

All sorts of music, since its a great way to add something to a situation or feeling. So I listen to all sorts of music like Paul Simon, The Prodigy, The Rolling Stones, Les Paul, Billy Idol, classical music, and much much more.

Reading is something I really enjoy and at the moment I'm reading A Game of thrones.

And board games like chess, (Dutch) checkers, Go and other board games with a small luck factor. But I also think that it's always fun to see someone lose because of pure bad luck.

Algo increíble que he hecho

A time I was really left awestruck was when i was sitting at a trainstation in Amsterdam. I had to wait for my train and so I sat down at a bench near a little park. when suddenly I saw a man, with a big beard in a red dress with yellow flowers on it, dancing over the grass, without any music. And while he was dancing he picked up the garbage that was laying on the grass and put them in the trash. And I realized that I just saw a complete idiot giving a great example.
