About Me

I grew up in Perth, Western Australia which is "the most isolated city in the world" - its closer to fly to Bali than other Aussie cities 🤣 To make up for this, I've lived in Canada, Japan and America on study exchanges. Then I started working in remote locations and Indigenous communities in Aus as a doctor. For the last few years, I've been mostly travelling overseas and meeting some incredible people through couchsurfing.

In my spare time I love getting outdoors and exploring. We'll definitely be able to find something in common like hiking, cooking, reading, adventure activities (skydiving, bungee jumping, scuba diving, paragliding etc), lazy beach days, boating, camping, psychology, motorbike rides, unlimited tea drinking, trying traditional or unusual foods, trail running, live music, aimless strolls, jumping off waterfalls, bonfires, thought provoking quotes and road trips :)

2022 I travelled solo in South America, 2023 was Asia and Europe (and New Zealand!). 2024 took me across the globe with several months in Central America, then Azerbaijan/Armenia/Georgia, more of eastern Europe and a few months in Africa. 2025 was Philippines, Morocco and then Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. This year I'm kicking things off in Belize and will see where I end up. I would love to meet people, try the local cuisines, stay active and spend as much time in the great outdoors as possible!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Solo travel opens you up to a much more authentic experience with locals. Before I had even heard of couchsurfing, I hosted 2 German backpackers at my house in Perth, and several years later stayed with them in Berlin. This beats an isolated hotel any day. Couchsurfing is a way to share and learn from unique people all around the world. I'm happy to be as independent or part of the household as my host wants.
