ABOUT ME

About me? Really? OK, I am a little beat up but I hope that it has not made me cynical. I come from a large very loving family. I have worked at the same place for 30 years and am greatful for the flexability it gives me to be able to live part time with my partner in Rio, Brazil. Before my partner took me to Rio, I had never been outside the USA and can now say that I had a very obscured view of what the "real" world was like. I fell in love with him and his home country and am eternally grateful to both for what I have learned about an amazing people and culture and about myself.I hope one day we will be able to travel to other places together when circumstances permit, but for the time being I am perfectly content to spend as much time as possible in his backyard: Rio de Janeiro.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have alot of free time by myself in Rio so I am basically looking for people who share my intrest in exploring the general area. I love to walk and hike and don't know how safe it is to do it alone. I like the idea of going with a group. I really like meeting new people.

Interests

I love being outdoors either riding my bike or walking. There are lots of opportunities for that in South Florida. I also like going to the theatre; both dramas and musicals. I volunteer at a local performing arts center. I really enjoy hiking through the forests in Rio and also visiting the art galleries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Have had to sacrifice so much to be able to spend as much time as possible with my partner. Absolutely no regrets.

Teach, Learn, Share

My partner and I have to spend so much time apart from each other because of unfair sensibilities. In the past this has caused great bitterness in my life. I have learned to deal with it, and for the most part, get past it. I am a stronger person because of our situation. I can even say that I would never have had the opportunity to live in another country if it were not for our predicament. Something good can come out of ANY situation.
