About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to collect experiences, so that I have stories to tell when I'm old and wrinkly...have already started though....telling stories that is...from my 12 years of travelling across India and the world as a travel journalist.

ABOUT ME

I write about travel to entice people to go out there and see the world.
I spent 8 years doing various roadtrips across India and my book - Hot Tea Across India - is a hilarious collection of funny misadventures across India.

PHILOSOPHY

Lots of memories, but far more dreams to realize and chase. That should be the equation always.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would be happy to take anyone interested on an history walk around the main heart of Mumbai. Though Mumbai is a much younger city than Delhi it has some interesting Portuguese and British history and some very interesting period architecture.

Interests

Just being out in the Himalayas makes me very happy, besides that, white water rafting, local cusines, quaint and cheery pubs, books, history, ancient monuments or excavations, a good conversation, a hearty laugh

Music, Movies, and Books

Too wide and varied

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ridden solo in the middle of the night from Kargil to Srinagar. When I crossed the Zoji La pass into Kashmir, the sight of the valley below me was so beautiful...I'd read about it a thousand times, but wasn't prepared for this kind of visual feast.
Skydiving over Queenstown, flying in a World War 2 aircraft, SCUBA Diving, given an elephant a bath.

Teach, Learn, Share

Anyone eager to talk about travel, experiences, books and of course food. I could share a few Indian recipes, familiarize visitors about Indian customs and practices and also take foodies for a few kinds of typical Indian breakfasts.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Bhutan, Cambodia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Indonesia, Ireland, Jamaica, Laos, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mauritius, Monaco, Myanmar, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Russian Federation, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam
