About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet as many interesting people as I can who can share an adventure or two.

ABOUT ME

I love to travel and experience different cultures. Off the beaten track and away from the tourist trails. Love to cook, mainly Indian cuisine although versatile with any dish. I was a teacher in High School and hold a CELTA qualification (teach adults English as a second language). I currently run my own business as a Live-in Care provider. Easy going. Enjoy the outdoors especially long walks in the park or along the Thames. Surfing, Swimming and running, Wellness, Massage. I go to the gym regularly. Inner Peace and Happiness that comes from deep within.

PHILOSOPHY

I live by this simple philosophy. It's not mine but the Dalai Lama's. I have it as a wall hanging in my bedroom and it's one of the first things I see when I wake up:

A Precious Human Life
Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to have woken up, I am alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it, I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others, to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings, I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others, I am going to benefit others as much as I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

"I do not want my house to be walled in on all sides and my windows to be stuffed. I want the cultures of all the lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible." (Mahatma Gandhi)
I am happy to share a couch in my house. I am looking for a similar experience and wish to travel to places that are off the tourist trail. Apart from that, anywhere that I can afford would be amazing, and hope to surf a couch in every country that would let me in.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Very pleasant. Have hosted and really enjoyed the experience. I look forward to meeting more people. Slept on some interesting couches. Met some lovely people and want to keep meeting genuine people.

Interests

Oooooh where does one start, Firstly I want all of you to know that I do not like talking about myself. It kinda feels egotistical, arrogant, full of myself (And I am an Actor who suppose to enjoy the Limelight) But I like simple pleasures in life. Like sitting at Box Hill with that somebody special and enjoying the Surrey countryside. When travelling, I like to take it slow, enjoy the culture, food and people. Oh I also like to shop but changing that to be more simplistic. I am interested in how I can use my life to make the life of others better.

Music, Movies, and Books

Novels: Shantaram, The White Tiger, The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns, Waiting for the Barbarians, and the ultimate classic "To Kill a Mockingbird". Recently hooked on Nicholas Sparks novels.

Plays: Woza Albert, Ronnie Govender's "At the Edge", Killed 17th July 1916, Blood Brothers, The Producers, The 39 Steps.

Music: Tibetan Music, Music for Meditation, Buddha Lounge, World Music. Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Reggae, Jazz, Blues, New Age, Indie. I love it all.

Films: The Shawshank Redemption, Platoon, All Kubrick Movies, Woody Allens Vicky, Christina, Barcelona. Generally any movie irrespective of Genre that is Well made. I hate it when foreign countries dub movies. It is an insult to my art as an Actor as we take a lot of time getting the intonations, inflections and mood right in the voice. To have it dubbed over would make Sanford Meisner turn in his grave.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walking the volcanic mountains in New Zealand, driving on the South Island. Scuba diving for crays

Teach, Learn, Share

Learn: I'm a sponge, anything I can soak up,I'm learning everyday from everyone I come into contact with.

Share: My life experience in exchange for your point of view, philosophy and experiences.
