Hi,

I'm Rita. I currently live in Kuopio, Finland, which is reasonably close to where I'm from originally, at least in Finnish terms... Before coming here last summer, I spent a few years abroad in Scotland and Portugal where I went through university. Then I decided to take break from studying and work until I know better what to do with my life. Now I know, and am waiting to get accepted to uni again...

More about me as a person. I'm a happy fella. Sometimes I like to talk a lot and sometimes opt for the "awkward" silence. I enjoy pretty things, good food, and nice beats, so I'm quite hedonistic in that way. I'm very curious but the objects of my interest change quickly sometimes. But I'm always interested in people and their ways to live the lives they're given.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because sharing is caring. I just googled my name today to see what people see when they want to stalk me (presuming of course that they do), and my couchsurfing profile came out as result number four I think. I'd forgotten I had an account. But then I remembered that when I created it a couple years ago, I had the warm idea that when I have a flat to myself, I'd start proper hosting people, when at the time I was more curious to use it for my own travels. So here we are, with my profile up to date again! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is life - I wish I could find a better expression for this. I like good songs, and am often happily oblivious about song titles or artists because Spotify lets me. I love many many genres, such like jazz, indie, Finnish rap music (the kind that has some content), African beats... In general, the kind of music that triggers new parts of your brain to listen and makes you think differently, and sometimes the easy kind that comforts you. Music is mindfood and solace.

If anything in life I wish I was a reader type, but it just seems so difficult to me (especially when it comes to fiction, I'm struggling to find the patience). But I'm now trying to get into the habit through audio books - when there's a will, there's a way!.

I love watching movies, but rarely get myself to it on my own. I take recommendations. Same thing with TV.

Ate soil straight from the flower pot when I was two (I'll show you picture proof when I see you).

Teach, Learn, Share

I climb, indoors so far, and would love to get better at it. I'd love to start going outdoors.

What ever I do, I love talking about. I get excited about many things, and love to learn from others by doing or by sharing thoughts. If I can get somebody excited about something I do, that makes me very happy too. :)

In my own opinion, I cook pretty well. I can share my thoughts about life, my current hopes, worries, beliefs, best bloopers... I'm pretty sure I'll find something I have in common with you.
