About Me
Hie !!!
I’m Ritika—a curious soul from Jodhpur, India, who believes that the world is stitched together by stories, kindness and coffee shared with strangers. I travel not to tick off places but to feel places—through their people, their silences and the little everyday magic that doesn’t make it to guidebooks.
I’m deeply moved by books, soulful movies, handwritten letters and honest conversations. I find beauty in both chaos and calm and I love exploring things that are raw and real—whether it’s a dusty mountain trail or someone’s life journey over a midnight chat.
I'm that person who carries a journal everywhere, who will take a detour just for a sunset and who believes hugs can heal more than medicine.
Not perfect, not always brave—but always real.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe we are little pieces of everyone we meet.
Strangers have helped me without expecting anything back and that moment stayed with me longer than most conversations.
A friend taught me to always carry something sweet when visiting someone. Another showed me to never show up empty-handed—not for the sake of gifts, but for the thought behind it. Even a simple ₹20 KitKat, just because the person you're meeting likes it, can carry more love than anything else.
Someone reminded me to always drop your girl friends home or ask if your guy and girl friends reached safely. Someone else brought me home-cooked food when I was far from home, just because they knew how much that comfort meant.
Couchsurfing, for me, is a way to keep that chain of small kindnesses going. To remind people that the world can still be soft, thoughtful and real. I want to be that good this world is capable of. Not for show, not for points—just because someone once did the same for me.

Music, Movies, and Books
📚 **Books are my soul language**
I’m the kind of reader who seeks raw emotions, harsh truths and deep reflections hidden between pages. I love stories that mirror real life, make you feel deeply and stay with you long after the last page is turned. I resonate most with emotionally good fiction and meaningful non-fiction—books that break and rebuild you.
Here are some of my favorites:
🧕 A Woman Is No Man — Etaf Rum
🪁 The Kite Runner — Khaled Hosseini
🌸 A Thousand Splendid Suns — Khaled Hosseini
💔 The Fault in Our Stars — John Green
🌧️ It Ends With Us — Colleen Hoover
🫀 All Your Perfects — Colleen Hoover
🕊️ Veronika Decides to Die — Paulo Coelho
🫧 Girl in Pieces — Kathleen Glasgow
Non-Fiction that’s impacted me:
💌 Unposted Letter — Mahatria Ra
🧭 The Alchemist — Paulo Coelho
🚀 You Can Win — Shiv Khera

🎬 **Favorite Movies That Stay With Me**
I watch movies not just to pass time, but to feel. I love stories with heart, nostalgia, a little magic and the beauty of simple, human moments.
🍂 The Shawshank Redemption — Hope, freedom and a story that lingers
🧙♂️ Harry Potter (All parts) — Magic that raised me and still feels like home
💌 To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (All parts)
🎒 Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani — The traveler, dreamer and lover in me, all rolled into one
✈️ Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara — Road trips, poetry and learning how to really live
🌾 The Magic of Ordinary Days — A soft, slow reminder that even the quietest act of love are beautiful
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
🕉️A few days back, I trekked to Tungnath Mahadev Temple (Around 6 km of steep trek), the highest Shiva temple in the world (Around 12,073 feet).
It was raining almost the entire time, and I was wearing a raincoat but still got completely soaked by the end. The path was slippery, the weather was rough, and the clouds were so thick that I could barely see the trail at times.
But reaching the top—standing in front of that ancient temple surrounded by mist and silence—felt surreal.
I don’t know if it was faith or just the magic of the mountains, but something about that moment made it one of the most peaceful and powerful experiences of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
🪷Teach
I can share stories from India—soulful temple legends, hidden spiritual gems and everyday magic we often miss. I love recommending books and movies that actually stay with you. I can teach you how to cook basic Indian food, go on spontaneous little art dates (painting or sketching), and throw in a totally random theory about life or the universe that’ll either blow your mind or make you laugh. Also, I journal a lot so if you're into self-reflection or writing, we might just lose track of time talking.
🪄 Learn
I want to learn how you see the world. Teach me your favorite local dish, a random phrase in your language, how your culture celebrates small joys, or just a different way of thinking. I'm curious about your beliefs, your travels, or even your version of “home” and "happiness".
🫶 Share
Let’s share sunsets (Not a morning person until and unless I am awake the entire night and haven't slept only to watch sunrise), songs, long walks, soul talk and spontaneous coffee and good food plans. I love trading stories more than souvenirs.
If you’ve got time and heart to share, I’m here for it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I bring energy. A lot of it. Like talk-your-heart-out-and-still-have-more-left kind of energy.
I’m usually the one who’s always excited about something—life, people, coffee, stories, the rain, a random cat I saw on the street.
Most of the time I just feel everything very deeply. And sometimes it’s hard to find people who can match that vibe... but when I do it’s pure magic.
That said, there’s never a dull moment with me. I come with stories—lots of them. Some will make you laugh, some will make you think and some are just weirdly weird. If you're up for long conversations, deep chats or spontaneous singing while making coffee or cooking food, we’ll get along just fine.
Also... I cook. And not just anything—I bring you home.
✨ Daal Baati and Churma (MY FAVOURITE FOOD IN THE WHOLE WORLD)
🌶️ Gatte ki Sabji (Rajasthani classic)
🥣 Kadhi Chawal
🌿 Vegetarian Biryani
🧄 The best possible Cheese Garlic Naan
🥘 And Parathas—stuffed, crispy and made depending on my mood
So if you're into Indian food, loud laughter, heartfelt stories and someone who genuinely wants to connect I’ve got you covered.
